I Am Mother, 2019 – ★½

The entire storyline required the characters to be very tropey to work. Also, does it make sense to innately trust a stranger over the person who raised you, just because the stranger is of the same race as you?
No, of course not, but the protagonist is of the rebellious years and the stranger possessed a picture of a pretty boy whom the protagonist found attractive. *ugh*
The movie was supposed to show the protagonist as being a strong independent person. Instead I found her easily manipulated, unable to work her way through a logic problem and if she was the best hope for humanity, then we don’t deserve to live.

I’m curious to know how Cantonese music sound to people who don’t understand the language.

This song, 廢話, has a slightly complex duet, with the two singers singing each alternate word. But is that obvious to people who don’t know the words?

Wu Yen, 2001 – ★★

I’d forgotten that I’d watched this show. It was sheer curiosity of how the story would end that got me through this movie.
The humour is way to ridiculous and nobody is taking anything seriously.
It’s definitely not worth watching, but I don’t hate it, so it gets more than one star.
